DESCRIPTION: “Batalha” (‘battle' in portuguese) is a record based on the recordings of electronic landscapes, turntable crackles and other analog and digital sources made by Nuno Moita. Afterwards Matteo Uggeri remixed those sounds adding field recordings of animals and machines. The concept is a battle between the forces of nature and those of machines, between analog and digital sounds, between stressful noises and soothing tunes, where unexpectedly the artificial side corresponds to relief and the natural one to anxiety and stress. One of the tracks of this CD has been chosen by Patrick McGinley/murmur for his “Framework 250” compilation on field recordings. |
